2 weeks agoSalsa and guac were from a jar - not homemade. I ordered the asada plate and was nothing special. Maybe I ordered the wrong dish but I thought there would be more flavor in the food for the high rating.

a month agoAbsolutely delicious asada burrito. Took my first bite and didn’t put it down until it was gone. You know how most burritos have that issue where all the meat is on one side and the rest of the burrito is just mush? Not this one. This one was perfect.

3 months agoA restaurant that specializes in Yucatan food. You order and pay at the counter and are given a number to put on the table and the food is delivered to the table when it is ready. There are a few protein choices and several of the items can be made vegetarian. There are several tables and one outside. There is a parking area next to the restaurant

3 months agoI have been to Ki'ikibaa many times and had many delicious meals, but am writing this review specifically to talk about the beauty of the Frijol con Puerco. I don't think there's a better dish in Portland for the money. It tastes like a home-cooked meal made with love by the Abuela you never had. It is deeply and intensely porky with a nice thickness provided by the bean broth. I like to make tacos with the fresh made corn tortillas served on the side, and load them up with the pork chunks, beans and all the garnishes (including the habanero if you're feeling brave). When you get through the tortillas, you're left with a warm bowl of beans and broth to savor. Every visit is an intense inner-conflict between trying something else amazing on the menu, and the insatiable need to order the Frijol con Puerco yet another time, it's that good. I feel deeply grateful and appreciative to live so close to such a fabulous restaurant and dish.

4 months agoFirst time I visited. Good food, poor service. My order was mixed up and spread among the other orders in my party. The manager was disagreeable, claiming she didn’t overcharge (which was never the issue). Once the issue was resolved she was still argumentative. I had to request a plate for my meal. She gave me a small appetizer plate for my dinner. She didn’t offer an apology for her mistake or thank you. The staff who took my order was pleasant and friendly.

5 months agoYour first visit should be a burrito, and dine in. Go back for the turkey mole or the salbutes. Follow them on Instagram so you can pre order tamales for the holidays when they take orders. The tamales are big, not as big as tamale boy, but a higher filling to masa ratio. See pics.

a year agoI don’t know how this place is a 4.8! This is the best food I’ve had in YEARS!!!! This place is a 5! I am actually going to fly my wife and daughter here just for this food. Whoever is in the kitchen is cooking with love! I’ll be back for more. BTW, I eat all over the country so please believe this place is LEGIT!

2 years agoNot your typical Mexican cuisine as this place specializes in food from the Yucatán region in Mexico. While I can’t speak on the authenticity I can confirm that it tastes good! Everything was fresh and made with love. Clean interior with plenty of seating. Will have to come back to try all the other menu options.
